I entered Foundation year afraid, uncertain, and unknowing of what I'm doing with my life, and I'm leaving it in the same way. For the past eight months, I was reminded that art is like an annoying sibling: it bothers me more often than I'd like, but somehow, I still end up loving it from the bottom of my heart.

On the very first day of school, I was told that there was significant meaning in pinning a string from one end of the room to another, it was then that I knew I was in the right place, and that I had a whole adventure waiting for me here."

In my first year at ECU, I’ve met amazing staff, awesome professors and wonderful friends . I began by having no idea of what I was going to do, but during my Foundation year I’ve been inspired by a variety of experiences, and have gained insights into the world around me. I enjoyed my first year and appreciate the ECU community, and it’s welcoming environment that allows for students like myself to find ways to fit in. I’m looking forward to exploring and discovering more potential in myself over the next 3 years of study.

This year was wack, but I’d do it all over again.

I never knew what I wanted from this year except that in four years, I’ll get a degree. I never knew I'd get what I needed this year - loving friends, patient teachers, and surrounded by art
