This year has taught me that being an artist is organic, fluid and ever-changing. I'm not meant to be stagnant with my art, instead I must evolve with it and trust the process of creation.
Kamila Bashir
My daily affirmations for the past year sounded like:
Be free
Or bound
Create
Or take a break
Be art
Or make art
Float
Or immerse
Sort it
Or go with the flow
Do whatever brings you peace of mind, and pleasure.

My Foundation year helped me reconnect with my inner artist. I learned to create with values, honesty and confidence and that the stories I tell matter. You know how they always talk about following your passion? Now I can say that it feels damn good! Tell more stories
Connor Simpson
I think that I've become more comfortable working without a specific goal in mind, being more open to experimentation and discovering things along the way.
Maria Mazilenko
I didn't know what to expect when coming here at such a time, coupled with the self-doubt I had upon entry, but I'm already finishing the first year with so many wonderful friends, and a new-found strength and confidence. To my Discord squad: I love you guys so much.
Randall Barnetson

Without introspection and reflection one can't create expressive and effective artworks - one good thing that came out of isolation. I learned to create catharsis of my emotions through my work, helping my emotional state and making my work stronger. It was hard, I was scared, but I am no longer.
Ava Torreggiani
Stop second guessing yourself. You're meant to be here. Breathe.
Lou Jezreel Mendoza
An experience for sure! Despite being part of the online bubble and enduring new and difficult obstacles, I find myself looking forward to my second year as I create more elevating art. Thank you to all the professors taking part in such a difficult year.
Jieun Lee
First year provided me with a great opportunity to view other's works. This motivated me to create with passion. Learning to understand the cultural meanings of historical works helped me see these differently, and allowed me to be more aware of how I articulate my thoughts.
